Principal and Founder of Studio Urquiola, Patricia Urquiola is an award-winning architect, designer, and visiting lecturer at various universities across the world. She has been Art Director of Cassina since 2015 and has partnered with Haworth since 2014, collaborating to share her innovative perspective and expertise on product and space design.

Patricia was born in Oviedo, Spain. A student of architecture, she attended the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Politecnico di Milano. She worked with Vico Magistretti and, later, as head of design at Lissoni Associati. In 2001 Patricia opened her own studio in Milan, operating in the field of product design, architecture, art, artistic direction, strategic consulting, exhibitions, installations, graphics and concept development.

Patricia designs for the most important Italian and international companies and some of her work is displayed in various international museums and collections, including the MoMA in New York, the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, the Museum of Design in Munich, the Vitra Design Museum in Basel, the Stedelijk in Amsterdam, and the Victoria & Albert Museum and Design Museum in London.
