Student Design Competition: Metaverse Lounge

Welcome, aspiring innovators and creative minds! IIDA SFC invites you to embark on an exhilarating journey of imagination and innovation as we challenge you to design a three-dimensional lounge space in the boundless realms of the Metaverse. CONTEST GUIDELINES

Eligibility: The contest is open to all students currently enrolled in an interior design program in an educational institution located in West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Meyers, Naples, and Miami, FL. This is a team based or individual competition. Teams should not exceed 2 students. 

Originality: All submissions must be original work created by the participant(s). Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.

Competition Parameters: Individuals or Teams work on creating their three-dimensional lounge space design within the Metaverse platform of their choice (e.g., Decentraland, Roblox, VRChat). Each student applicant will be responsible to submit a printed banner to be displayed at the IIDA SFC BRAGG Awards hosted at Jungle Island on June 22nd, 2024. This is a great opportunity to get your work seen by hundreds of professionals in the industry! 

Submission: 

  • Lounge Size Requirement: 18’W x 18’D x 14’H 

               Note: Size should not be exceeded for judging continuity

  • Your final submission should include a 60”L x 24”W printed banner

               Board to include:

                              - Title, Student Name, and attending University/ College

                              - Concept statement

                              - Floor Plan (1’=1” scale)

                              - Minimum of two renderings

                              - Minimum of one elevation (1’=1”scale)

  • All display banners must be submitted by June 18th, 2024 

SUBMISSION PROCESS

  1. To enroll in the competition, send an email to Vpstudentaffairs@iidasfc.org with your name(s), a copy of your student ID, contact information (email and phone number), and design concept by May 24th, 2024. 

Create an innovative Metaverse Lounge design that follows the submission requirements. 

  1. All banners must be printed and delivered to a member of the IIDA South Florida Chapter board by June 18th, 2024.

  1. All contestants are strongly encouraged to attend the IIDA SFC BRAGG Awards event on June 22nd, 2024.

  2. Contestants will display their banners & designs at the BRAGG Awards event allowing hundreds of industry leaders and professionals to see their creativity and vision. Students can also elect to stand by their banners and present their works as a form of networking.

PRIZES

All participants will have the opportunity to network and meet industry leaders to improve their chances of landing their dream job!

Monetary scholarships will be awarded (2 applicants). Awards are dependent on the IIDA SFC Student Affairs auction.

WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT

The winners will be announced via social media on July 1st, 2024.
